The future of transport is quiet, electric and emission-free. That's the focus of the Daimler Truck Star Convoy: With the new Mercedes-Benz eActros 600, the company is officially launching the practical application of battery-electric trucks in long-distance transport at its Wörth am Rhein site. As one of fourteen logistics partners, we participated in the “Electrify Inbound Logistics” project with the aim of completely electrifying the inbound logistics of Daimler plants.
As part of this collaboration, LKW WALTER picks up goods in Villarreal (Spain), then the trailer travels by rail from Le Boulou to Bettembourg, and from there it continues fully electrically with the eActros 600 to the factory in Wörth.
The use of electric tractor units is an important step on our path towards Net Zero by 2045. A central role is also played by the development of so-called Green Corridors - sustainable transport solutions that minimize CO₂ emissions along the entire route. Here, we rely on the clever combination of rail and road as well as the use of state-of-the-art powerdrives such as eLKW or alternative fuels such as HVO or LBG (Liquid BioGas).
