LKW WALTER is actively shaping the digital future of Combined Transport

Common standards for a networked world of transport

In 2009, the "European Chemical Transport Association" (ECTA) launched its Responsible Care Initiative. Today this initiative enjoys high recognition and appreciation in the chemical industry. LKW WALTER has supported the initiative from the start and was one of the first companies to join it.

As part of this long-term cooperation, LKW WALTER has now played a significant role in an ECTA initiative that promotes the digitalisation and standardisation of data interchange in Combined Transport. The aim was to develop uniform guidelines that serve as the basis for more efficient, secure and transparent digital communication. This is intended to improve the flow of information between all stakeholders in the supply chain in the long term.

New best-practice guidelines for more efficiency and transparency

As part of this initiative, LKW WALTER has actively participated in the development of central best-practice guidelines that further accelerate the digital transformation in the transport industry. These include standards for digital booking and standardised data interchange in Combined Transport, which will make the exchange of information between shippers, service providers and transport partners much easier and faster in the future.

With the official publication of the position papers on 20th October 2025, the industry is sending a strong signal for cooperation and innovation. Together with ECTA, LKW WALTER is driving forward digitalisation in Combined Transport and is actively shaping the future of networked logistics.
