LKW WALTER is pleased to announce a new partnership with IMTRON, a MediaMarktSaturn Group company. To date, the German company has organized the transport of its private label items from Germany to northern and southern Italy by road and has recently been looking for sustainable alternatives. Due to the higher supply chain stability over the Brenner Pass and the reduction of CO₂, LKW WALTER convinced with combined transport. The result: all transports of this important route are shifted to rail. The special feature is that the craneable trailers are lifted onto the train at the terminal and transported to Italy without any transshipment. In Italy they go back on the road for the last mile.
With LKW WALTER, MediaMarktSaturn has opted for over 40 years of experience in combined transport. This is considered an up-and-coming solution for sustainable transports on the long haul - even though it has been around for so long. The figures in particular prove this: On the route driven by MediaMarktSaturn almost a whole ton of CO₂ emissions (exactly 919 kg) are saved per transport and trailer.
