LKW WALTER has taken another step towards greater sustainability on the route between Paskov (CZ) and Herne (DE). Since the start of the connection in 2018, more than 20,000 trailers have switched from road to rail.
Together with many of our customers from the automotive, chemical, wood and paper industries, we have saved more than 9,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions. The combination of road and rail will also be an important transport alternative on this route in the future. The connection with the ferry also makes it a sustainable transport solution to the UK.
Aside from the positive environmental effects, Combined Transport has other advantages. In addition to the increased loading capacity, the avoidance of traffic jams and driving bans is a key argument.
